About

A girl, a backpack, and
a terrible sense of direction

Hey โ€” I'm Annie. I started this journal because I kept telling friends "you had to be there" and realized I needed a better place to put the stories. So here we are.

I'm not a full-time traveler, not a digital nomad, not someone who quit their job to roam the earth (though respect to those who do). I just really like getting on trains and seeing what happens next. Some trips are two weeks, some are two months. All of them leave me with something to write about.

This started as a personal blog to keep memories from getting hazy. Turns out I kinda like writing them down and sharing them. So if you're here โ€” thanks for reading. Hope something here makes you want to pack a bag and go somewhere.

Why "Journey With Annie"?

I've always believed the best travel stories aren't about the destinations โ€” they're about the people you meet, the detours you take, and the moments that don't make it into the guidebooks. This journal is my way of holding onto those moments.

Every post here is real. The good, the bad, the "I booked the wrong hostel and slept in a train station." Because travel isn't a highlight reel โ€” it's messy and beautiful and sometimes you eat the worst meal of your life in a city everyone told you was a food paradise. That's the stuff I want to remember.
